promote development of high-skilled, high-demand transportation workers by facilitating partnerships and improving communication and sharing across workforce development organizations.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Strategies, Goals, and Actions<\/h2>\n<h3>Strategy 1: Build and Sustain a Network of Transportation Organizations and People<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect the Midwest transportation community by:\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining a database of stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Creating email and social media campaigns.<\/li>\n<li>Offering webinars.<\/li>\n<li>Fostering Midwest communities of practice.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating working groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with other regional centers to build the National Network for the Transportation Workforce (NNTW) by:\n<ul>\n<li>Developing content consistent with other centers to build a national database of resources.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting all regional centers activities on the MTWC website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the MTWC Advisory Board to identify new trends, challenges, and initiatives across the region by:\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring new development and practices are promoted and shared.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Strategy 2: Facilitate Partnerships<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide opportunities for partnership development between workforce stakeholders: public and private industry, educational institutions, K-12 to post-secondary, unions, and professional and student organizations by:\n<ul>\n<li>Convening meetings with a cross-section of workforce development stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate twenty partnerships by December 2016 by:\n<ul>\n<li>Meeting with individual organizations to understand common interests and goals.<\/li>\n<li>Tracking partnership development and outcomes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Strategy 3: Utilize a Data-Driven Approach<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand transportation workforce issues and gaps in the Midwest by:\n<ul>\n<li>Utilizing MTWC compiled educational resources to develop career pathways analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Utilizing new sources of data to develop pipeline statistics.<\/li>\n<li>Producing demographic projections for the Midwest.<\/li>\n<li>Producing visualizations of data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Understand transportation workforce development stakeholder behavior by:\n<ul>\n<li>Producing analytics on Social Media Channels.<\/li>\n<li>Refining outreach strategies on Social Media Channels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Strategy 4: Promote and Create Workforce Development Initiatives<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote initiatives that address gaps in information, demographic representation, and underserved populations.<\/li>\n<li>Advance workforce development movement on MTWC focus areas of career awareness, career pathways, stackable credentials, and promoting and sharing best workforce development practices by:\n<ul>\n<li>Implementing a \u201cSuccess Stories\u201d Campaign.<\/li>\n<li>Pursuing funding to carry out initiatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Strategy 5: Maintain the MTWC Clearinghouse of Transportation Resources<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>MTWC website will be a first-stop for transportation workforce resources: programs, activities, and best practices in the Midwest by:\n<ul>\n<li>Developing processes to collect and update resources.<\/li>\n<li>Engaging stakeholders to provide resources that may not be on the internet.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting successful practices as featured content.<\/li>\n<li>Initiating a Clearinghouse Campaign to review and add more resources to the clearinghouse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Strategy 6: Serve as a Backbone Organization in the Region<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement a Collective Impact strategy to transportation workforce network building in the Midwest by:\n<ul>\n<li>Providing continuous communication to transportation stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Leveraging partnerships for new initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Convening meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Meeting with stakeholders to find common ground.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Establish a sustainable center that serves all transportation stakeholders by:\n<ul>\n<li>Pursuing funding to meet cost-share and post-FHWA grant funding.<\/li>\n<li>Working with MTWC Advisory Board to develop a plan for funding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Strategy 7: Champion Transportation Workforce Research<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Build the literature of transportation workforce research by:\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborating with the NNTW partners on proposals.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with TRB, AASHTO, industry and other stakeholders to identify, develop, and draft research needs statements.<\/li>\n<li>Undertaking research projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\"
