WORKSHOP – Supply Chain Management and Logistics: How to Develop and Sustain a Successful Program

Supply Chain Management and Logistics is an important career field both in the U.S. and around the world. Attend this pre-conference workshop at the National Career Pathways Network annual conference to learn how to:
- find data needed to justify a program
- identify and approach industry partners
- market the program to students, parents and the community
- develop a program that includes dual enrollment classes with the potential of continuing on to a BA program
- find the resources that you need to start and sustain your program
- determine which certifications are best for your students
Participate in two industry tours. First, tour the new 1.2 million square foot state of the art Walmart e-commerce fulfillment center in Plainfield, Indiana now serving consumers throughout the U.S. Walmart built the new e-commerce fulfillment center to handle its rapidly growing online business. The massive building is dedicated to fulfilling e-commerce orders, and is able to house millions of items and ship them to customers or stores for free pickup. The Plainfield facility is the latest addition to Walmart’s next-generation fulfillment network that consists of additional e-commerce fulfillment centers, then tour the Vincennes University’s Logistics Training and Education Center (VU LTEC) which features a one-of-a-kind experience, combining classroom instruction with hands-on learning in the 40,000 square foot warehouse. Students put into action what they have learned using the latest equipment and technology. VU LTEC offers both short-term training (Fork-Lift, CDL Class A, GLA, Team Lead) and credit-bearing academic programs (Supply Chain Logistics Management AS).
